Murphy Oil has selected Noble Corp.’s ultra-deepwater drillship Noble Bob Douglas for work in the Gulf of Mexico.

Under the deal, the drillship will operate in the US Gulf of Mexico in a time period covering early to late July.

The drillship had been cold stacked since its previous contract, when Apache canceled its contract offshore Suriname.

After Murphy’s July contract, UK-based Irish firm Tullow Oil will then take the drillship for work offshore Suriname again.
